Square Dance Caller drop new single “Somebody Like You”

Australian indie-rock outfit Square Dance Caller are back with an infectious, new single entitled “Somebody Like You.” The group formed in 2021 and is the latest project from Melbourne-based multi-instrumentalists, songwriters, and brothers Brendan and Michael Etherington.

Featuring grooving drums, riff-roaring guitars and playful synth lines, the track comes as a textually diverse offering that will be sure to pick you up and leave you wanting more. On top, vocals come drenched in emotion and work hand in glove with well-penned lyrics that are a match made in heaven for the accompanying live performance music video.

Speaking about the single, Brendan says: “I think we have all had somebody in our lives either romantically, or platonically, who’s a bit older or more mature and who seems so cool and confident. We either lusted after them or wished we had them in our corner teaching us all their moves. That’s what this song is all about.”

With an upcoming tour, we cannot wait to see where they’ll take this.
