International DJ & Producer, Steve Aoki unveils plans to premiere a compelling documentary at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival on 15th April at the Beacon Theatre. Titled ‘I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead’, the documentary takes a look into the life and mind of one of the music’s most hardworking, controversial and captivating characters. The screening will be followed by an exclusive conversation with Aoki and a live performance where fans and movie goers can experience the music that was created during the film.
‘I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead’ was shot during the making of his Neon Future double album (Dim Mak/Ultra Music) throughout 2014 and 2015. It follows Aoki on his journey to play the biggest show of his career at Madison Square Garden and centres around his complex, yet loving relationship with his father – the Benihana restaurant tycoon and former Olympian, Rocky Aoki.
Directed by Justin Krook and produced by Matthew Weaver (Rock of Ages), Matt Colon and David Gelb – Steve Aoki bears all in this moving documentary.
