STIMMING ANNOUNCES LIVE TIPS ADVENT CALENDAR
It is now almost a decade since a young German producer named Stimming hooked up with his local Hamburg label, Diynamic. He is the one who has always demonstrated a sophisticated yet accessible sound that’s way beyond his years and as such, is rather regarded as the production godfather of the Diynamic stable. Last year he shared his wealth of knowledge with an advent calendar of production tips, and this year he is repeating the treat with another calendar focussing on live techniques.
As such, throughout December in 2014 Stimming will be posting stuff from him, and and some of the biggest live acts around, everyday. Those include Henrik Schwarz, Johannes Brecht, Stefan Bodzin, Frank Wiedemann from Ame, Der Dritte Raum, Isolèe and Die Vögel and so Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday will be tips by Stimming himself, with Tuesday and Thursday offering guest tips. Meanwhile, Sunday will be something like a “best of” from Stimming’s year and all in all this means he will have 7 guest tips, 14 tips by the man himself and 3 “special sweets.”
Below is a summary of all tips from last year, whilst Stimming has this to say on the matter: “This year the general issue about playing live is that there isn’t any kind of safe-formula to do it (apart from maybe using Ableton live) that’s why I want to invite colleagues to give away one short description of their live set and what in their opinion are the most important tips’
