German trance duo Store N Forward have been back in the kitchen cooking up another trance anthem with their humorous signature flavor. Already seeing radio support from Armin van Buuren on A State of Trance, their newest creation ‘Sauerkraut,’ a tasty progressive track, is out now on Afterglow Records with an official music video.
“For the past two years we’ve named our tracks after food, and there’s a German dish called Sauerkraut and Weisswurst that we used as the inspiration for this particular title,” Christian and Thomas from Store N Forward said. “As you can imagine it’s not that easy to bring up emotions and memories when you talk about something like ‘Sauerkraut,’ but we always try to find melodies for our tracks that touch our heart at least a little bit. It’s all about the melody, because this is what lasts in the listener’s head, so it had to be something special, catchy, unique and… it had to sound like Store N Forward.”
If the title doesn’t get your tastebuds tingling, don’t let it get you down. Unlike the sour cabbage it’s name infers the track is full of sweet euphoric sounds and sparkling melodies, providing the delectable, feel-good trance so many of us are searching for. With powerful basslines, coy robotic synths and epic breakdowns, ‘Sauerkraut’ provides the soundtrack for a trance dance party like no other.
Previous chart toppers “Pepper” and “Salt” earned Store N Forward a place on Beatport’s Artists To Watch in 2012 list, but it was their third place finish in a 2004 remix contest for Above & Beyond’s classic Oceanlab track ‘Satellite’ that put them on the map. With track titles as mouthwatering as ‘Sugar,’ ‘Bananas,’ ‘Nuts,’ ‘Schnitzel’ and now ‘Sauerkraut,’ Christian Steinweg & Thomas Boldt have striven to perfect their sound, refine their productions and keep the industry guessing what will come next.
Watch Chris & Thomas go on a journey to make their own version of ‘Sauerkraut’ in the official music video below, and if you’re feeling bold try out their recipe yourself!
