Mixhell, Joe Goddard & Mutado Pintado - Strong & Wrong

Mixhell have released a brand new EP, ‘Strong & Wrong’ on their Delayed Records imprint.  Australian producer Craig Williams also offers a remix of the titled single.

The 3 track EP is a personal collection of work and touches on themes of poetry and the celebration of life.  Alongside the 6Music playlisted lead track, ‘Bella’ journeys through bells and mantra-like sounds whilst the title single explores a man’s bohemian life, with the EP ending on a beautiful rendition of Laurie Anderson’s ‘In Our Sleep’, a track that showcases Lou Reed and Laurie’s adventure into drum beats and dreams.  The cover also features the first vocals from the duo’s Iggor. Being part of the aforementioned BBC Radio 6  playlist has seen the track played across all day time shows on the station, incuding Nemone, Mary Anne Hobbs, and Lauren Laverne, and there’s been notable support across the likes of The Black Madonna (BBC Radio 1), Coco Cole (Capital Xtra), and more, as the new EP is a true testament to their long lasting career. 

Showcasing their dynamic taste, Mixhell have enlisted a strong selection of producers to remix the EP. First up is the now LA based artist Craig Williams, who spins his own take on ‘Strong & Wrong’ by providing a thumping-club mix, perfect for peak time dancefloors. Craig also provides his own dub, alongside a remix from Future Sound Of Antwerp, while Johnny Broke takes on Bella. The mixes have picked up support from The Aston Shuffle on Triple J (Craig Williams remix), Andrew Weatherall, Tom Findlay, PBR Streetgang, Nick Warren, Richard Dorfmeister, Tronik Youth, Coco Cole (again!), Tim Sweeney, Digitalism and more.  The full remix EP is released on September 14th.

Producing and performing together since 2004, Mixhell started touring in Europe and US around 2007. After collaborating with many artists such as Diplo, MSTRKRFT, Boys Noize, 2manydjs and DJ Hell, they have built a solid underground career in electronic music. Moving from Sao Paulo to London in 2013 led Mixhell to work closely with Soulwax, recording and performing their most recent album ‘From Deewee’ as part of their 7 piece band and continue to perform with them at festivals across the globe this summer.
