Nuri - Summer / Twist

Up-and-coming DJ and producer Nuri has been on fire in the last few months, putting his name on some top-notch releases which have grabbed the attention of the EDM world. Having debuted with his hit single ‘Blue Lagoon’ and following up with others wonders like ‘Reasons’ and his Beatport ‘Electro Top 100’ chart entree ‘Right Back’, Nuri has now decided to offer a gift to his fans by giving away his latest two singles: ‘Summer’ and ‘Twist’ as free downloads.

Inspired by heavyweight names within the electronic music realm such as: KSHMR, DVBBS, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Avicii, Martin Garrix and Swedish House Mafia, the Kenya based talent has been the mastermind behind his highly-original EDM style. His signature recipe includes a variety of influences from diverse Dance music genres with dashes of his Hip Hop roots. Nuri’smusic is the culmination and the celebration of life’s vibrancy, which he’s now spreading across the world.

Nuri’s newest productions ‘Summer’ and ‘Twist’ are the fruits of a journey he’s embarked on which has seen him produce a streak of quality projects which is showing no signs of halting anytime soon. ‘Summer’ draws inspirations from the world of Progressive House music, kicking off with a House infused beat later adding a subby bass-line to deepen the vibe. Smooth acoustic melodies and arrangements take over, creating a dreamy and summery atmosphere, whilst Nuri adds colourful effects to spice things up. An unexpected drop characterises this single, offering a wonderful surprise element before resorting back into a mellower section, leading into multiple variations of the single’s smartly devised parts.

On the other hand, ‘Twist’ explores the dirtier and darker side of Nuri’s sound. Distorted, subby beats and bass lines give an instant ‘in your face’ punch which is then boosted with a series of raving melodies. Once again Nuri unleashes a series of effects from his arsenal, whilst building up to the massive Trap inspired drop. A melodic breakdown draws energy level back, whilst later ascending once more into the powerful chorus, offering a Jump-Up Big Room energy, which alternates with the hints of Trap in the drop. After different variations on the main sections, ‘Twist’ gets into a heavy, bassy section before closing off.

‘Summer’ and ‘Twist’ are a sheer display of Nuri’s versatility and talent, being able to put together such a wide range of inspirations to come up with his own unique musical vision. Such quality productions are certainly putting Nuri’s name on the list of artists to watch in 2015.
