Finnish youngster On June and Cheat Codes member Kevi deliver the fresh pop tune ‘Sunrise’. The catchy clings and clean percussion are floating on the smooth vocals of Kevi, destined to make waves. This dream team knows how to set a cozy and relaxed vibe. Drift away with ‘Sunrise’.
All the way from Finland comes Joel Heikkinen, better known as On June, a DJ and a producer with only one goal in mind, to make people feel good with his music. In his production he combines smooth melodies recorded with real instruments such as guitars with catchy beats that are able to make your whole body move with joy.
Last year On June caught the attention of many major artists as well as labels when he released his first single ‘The Devil’s Tears’, a cover of Angus & Julia original. This resulted in On June becoming the first Finnish producer to be exclusively signed to well-known dance label Spinnin’ Records and his first release, the Sam Feldt edit of his track ‘The Devil’s Tears’, on Spinnin’ Records’ sublabel Spinnin’ Deep (currently over 10 million Spotify streams to date). Earlier this year the young DJ/producer graduated from high-school and this summer he released his first solo track ‘Stuck On You’, which is rapidly closing on to the first million Spottify streams.
Now it’s time for the new single ‘Sunrise’, for which On June teams up with Cheat Codes member Kevi, real name Kevin Ford. “I was really happy to get Kevi on board to this track. His smooth voice perfectly fits this feel good tune! Also this marks the first time I used an ukulele to write a song and probably won't be the last considering how well it turned out!”, tells On June.
Kevi, together with fellow Cheat Codes members Trevor Dahl and Matthew Russell, knows how to perfectly blend pop and electronic music. The LA based three piece, who attract 18 million Spotify listeners a month and are the 22nd most streamed artist on Spotify, seem to know something that we don’t know – they’ve figured out the secret to life, or at least a way to jump right to the good part. Accumulating half a billion streams in the last year, which includes their track. ‘Let Me Hold You (Turn Me On’ (together with Dante Klein) with over 125 million streams and their eclectic re-work of Salt-N-Pepa’s “Sex” (together with Kris Kross Amsterdam) which currently sits at 350 million streams.
“This song is all about peace, love and dancing until the sunrise. I had so much fun working on it with my buddy from Finland.”, explains Kevi about his collaboration with On June.
‘Sunrise’ is already supported by Lost Frequencies, Faul & Wad Ad, N2N, LVNDSCAPE, Matthieu Koss and more.
