Desolat welcomes back label favourite Francisco Allendes this November as he joins fellow Chilean DJ Pablo Inzunza to deliver four infectious cuts in the form of their ‘Super 8’ EP.
A name known to many within the worlds of House and Techno, Francisco Allendes’ emergence as one of Ibiza’s most recognised names is certainly no coincidence. A core member of Loco Dice’s Serán Bendecidos family, Allendes’ history with Desolat lies deep after Dice noticed the Chilean and signed his ‘Animals’ EP’s back in 2013. Now four years, four Desolat EPs and two label samplers later, Allendes’ catalogue boasts releases on Cadenza, Snatch!, Kaluki and VIVa, whilst providing remixes for Do Not Sleep and Crosstown Rebels to name just a few. For ‘Super 8’, fast-rising compatriot Pablo Inzunza joins Allendes, with the young Chilean’s impressive ascent welcoming material on 8Bit, Deeperfect, Alphahouse and Wow!. Here we see the two talents combine for the first time, with the result forming an impressive collaborative EP rooted in Chile via Ibiza.
The EP opens up with ‘Caligula’, a high octane and dynamic production guided by an infectious lead line and cascading sirens, before title track ‘Super 8’ lays the focus on organic elements, with a series of precise drum licks and ever-evolving whirrs and background nuances keeping listeners moving.
Next up, ‘Ripples’ layers precise percussion patterns over a rolling groove and trippy vocal shots, revealing a menacing and cavernous cut destined for terraces and basements alike, before ‘Dogo’ punctuates the EP in fine style as twisting bass licks, crisp claps and delicate hats fuse effortlessly over bumping low ends to unleash an off kilter and unpredictable production that subtly evolves at every twist and turn, rounding out an excellent effort from Allendes and Inzunza.
Francisco Allendes & Pablo Inzunza ‘Super 8’ is out on Desolat on November 3rd 2017.
