The boundary-pushing producer joins the SUPERHUMAN label for a genre-blurring, emotionally charged release
SUPERHUMAN MUSIC, the label from Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso, dropped its first solo artist release on 6th June. Stepping into the spotlight is rising New York producer fia with her forward-thinking electronic gem, ‘sealight’.
Blending elements of trance, techno, and UK bass, ‘sealight’, discovered via SoundCloud, the cutting-edge, abstract track featuring skippy, wonky drums and a warm gated vocal, complex tonal shifts, driving basslines, and dramatic breakdowns. fia delivers an acutely crafted emotional narrative, wrapped up as a true club belter.
‘sealight’ marks fia’s third release and only the sixth from SUPERHUMAN, which marks the next label release following the April club-anthem ‘No Enemies’ featuring Namasenda.
The phenomenal fia draws inspiration from online underground communities, as well as her wider queer and trans community, distills her surroundings into dance music. An exploration of both disembodiment and euphoria, she constructs the sound of life refracted through stained glass: deconstructed trance leads and syncopated human voices that disintegrate as quickly as they appear – a world in collapse, still full of beauty and magic to cherish and foster.
fia’s seismic single ‘sealight’ is out now via SUPERHUMAN MUSIC. Listen now and look ahead for more mindbending music from the tantalising producer talent.
