Sven Tasnadi is one of Moon Harbour’s most regular and outstanding performers and he makes another noteworthy return with new EP Dionne’s Jam alongside fellow label mainstay Dario D’Attis.
Leipzig’s Tasnadi has released several EPs and two full-lengths on Moon Harbour as well as countless other underground sounds on labels like Cocoon and Smallville in a career that dates back 20 years. He is a master of subtle melodies and real musical depth as he shows again here. Meanwhile, the last time Swiss-born D’Attis was on the label, he collaborated with Markus Homm to great effect on ‘Fia’ – the latest in a long line of his tech house innovations on labels such as Saved Records and Stereo Productions.
First up this pair offers the brilliant ‘Where Is TheMusic’ which is a steamy house track that builds the tension through sweeping synths and vocal rumblings. Wet claps and nimble kicks make you move every bone in your body as the drums keep pumping and the soft shakers keep things smooth. The second track ‘Dionne’s Jam’ is a soul-drenched house sound with a distinctive lead synth that really sings. Bouncing drum and bass combinations bring warmth and heat as deft vocals, scratching, and effects all amp up the energy levels.
This is a great coming together of two of house music’s finest creative minds.
