Praised for her innovative sounds and sensational vocals, singer/songwriter Nadia Nair has released her new single ‘See Things’ featuring fellow Swedish artist Mwuana.
Elegantly telling the story of a broken relationship, Nadia Nair juxtaposes its raw and heartfelt lyrics with upbeat percussive sounds and compelling synths. Nadia states: “See Things is about realizing things through real eyes. When we fall in love we see what we want to see and when we break our illusions shatter too”.
Reflecting the mood of the track, Nair has released a captivating visual for ‘See Things’ which cuts between shots in a smoky and elegant restaurant decor, showcasing Nadia and Mwuana each quarreling with their partners.
P3 Guld-winning and 3x Swedish Grammy-nominee MC Mwuana accompanies Nair on the track, providing a melodic rap flow. Seamlessly blending genres and languages, the rapper is shifting perceptions of Swedish hip-hop. Speaking on her decision to collaborate with him, Nadia explains, “Mwuana is a soul I clicked with instantly. He’s just this natural raw force of talent.”
‘See Things’ follows previous singles ‘K’, ‘Bricks & Sandstorms’ and ‘Moon’ and phenomenal live performances at Bushstock Festival, Dot to Dot Festival, Stay Out West and The Great Escape Festival, where she was chosen as one of The Independent’s top 10 favourite new acts from the festival.
Emerging from behind the scenes after writing for the likes of Skip Marley, SEEB and Steve Angello, Nadia Nair has released an exquisite collection of songs which have garnered her widespread acclaim from various online publications, including The Independent, Clash, Hunger and The FADER, as well as radio support across BBC Asian Network and Radio X.
Nadia Nair describes her sound as, “Open for interpretation art”, highlighting Nadia’s refusal to be pigeon-holed and categorised. Refreshing and unrelentingly immediate, ‘See Things’ is a satisfying next step for Nadia Nair.
