The seminal Austin-Texas based South By South West (SXSW) Festival has today announced that the forthcoming motion picture release ‘Leave The World Behind’, a movie starring Swedish House Mafia, directed by Christian Larson and executively produced by Jonas Åkerlund, is to be one of the official selection films at this year’s film festival.
A music documentary following the break-up of Swedish House Mafia, and their subsequent One Last Tour, the largest electronic tour in history, selling over 1 000 000 tickets globally in one week. Director Christian Larson captures the band in a unique fly on the wall manner as they decide to call it quits and seek closure by finally going on the tour they had always dreamed of.
With breath-taking live moments, huge laughs and dark lows, the band start to unravel why they came to the decision to end the biggest achievement of their lives to date to save their friendship. As the tour finale edges closer and closer, the debate of why it’s all happening becomes more intense.
The film maps out three of the biggest stars in the EDM scene, a scene which has gripped youth the world over, the insight into this world, the psychology of the band, plus the sheer scale of the tour itself and the band’s achievements. This is one film not to be missed.
The movie will get its world premiere in March during the infamous SXSW Festival. To be the first to receive more information on the premiere and general release visit http://leavetheworldbehind.com
