Black Girl/White Girl make a debut appearance on M.F.S: Observatory’s Observatory Music imprint this April, accompanied by remixes from Jey Kurmis, freedomB and the label founders themselves.
Amsterdam based duo Ty and Karin aka Black Girl/White Girl have quickly established themselves as rising artists of note over the past few years, with their own blend of dynamic, dancefloor focused house music finding favour amongst leading talents including Marco Carola, Hector Couto, Latmun, Detlef and more. Following releases on the likes of Relief, Roush and Kittball to name just a few, here we see the duo deliver yet another impressive original cut entitled ‘T.A.F.F.Y’, accompanied by a trio of notable remixers in the form of Jey Kurmis, freedomB and label owners M.F.S: Observatory, set for release in early April.
Black Girl/White Girls’ original version of ‘T.A.F.F.Y’ kicks things off as chunky bass licks and skipping hats go to work amongst resonant bleeps and pops, before M.F.S: Observatory lay the focus on hefty kicks, menacing low end tones and resonant stabs throughout their commanding remix. Next up, Jey Kurmis’ bubbling interpretation wanders forth armed with tripped out vocal hooks and snaking drum shots, before handing over to freedomB who closes the package in style with a slick combination of rolling groove-heavy percussion patterns.
Black Girl/White Girl ‘T.A.F.F.Y’ EP is out on Observatory Music on 5th April 2019.
