Dutch duo Black Girl / White Girl debut on Max Chapman’s Resonance Records this June with a pair of energetic cuts featuring a remix by Secondcity.
Based in Amsterdam, Ty & Karin may be fresh on the scene but their impact on House and Techno in 2016 has seen them supported by top tier names such as John Digweed, Joseph Capriati and Riva Starr. Adding Resonance Records founder Max Chapman to the list, Black Girl / White Girl’s momentum shows no symptom of slowing with a fruitful 2017 featuring releases on Roush, Lapsus, and more to be announced.
Featuring heaving kicks and echoing snares, ‘Crazy Joe’ sees the pair blend intricate percussion with a relentless low-end drive whilst various subtle elements ebb in and out of the mix. ‘Piglet Booty’ is then a more sample heavy production, with infectious melodies and a cacophony of drums operating throughout. With recent appearances on Circus Recordings, Gruuv and ABODE, Secondcity reinterprets ‘Crazy Joe’, carrying over its esoteric components whilst incorporating his own signature aesthetic.
Black Girl / White Girl ‘Tales Of Light EP’ drops on Resonance Records on 2nd June 2017.
