Purple Disco Machine - Tank Drop EP

Following his Kittball debut earlier this year, the Dresden native Purple Disco Machine is back with a heavy funk laden two-tracker, the ‘Tank Drop’ EP, released in early December.

Ten years since it’s inauguration, Kittball maintains an impressive consistency of quality output, averaging ten releases a year whilst cementing themselves as one of the stand out contemporary deep house imprints of the modern day. Boasting a varied core roster, the German label is helped along by the success of its founders, Tube & Berger, not forgetting the machine that is Juliet Sikora who works around the clock to run the label seamlessly and successfully when she’s not producing her own lauded releases.

It’s been a little over five years since the Purple Disco Machine project was founded. Since then the one-man army has established himself as a leader in modern funk infused deep house. He’s put out many tracks that have garnered rightful attention in the Beatport charts and has just completed an incredible Summer in Ibiza, where he secured a residency at Space for Defected’s ‘Glitterbox’ night, as well as performing at We R FSTVL, Big City Beats, Shakedown and Lakedance throughout the season.

To begin with ‘Yo’ conjures feel good feelings with its catchy bassline and disco riff. Coupled with the crowd sample and hip-hop ‘yo baby’ repetition, not to mention the intense bongo build-up, this track ticks all the boxes for a sure fire party starter. Following on from this comes the title track ‘Tank Drop’, which really works to accentuate the deep-funkness that Purple Disco Machine has become synonymous with, combining a deep bassline with complimentary disco synths and stabs.

Purple Disco Machine’s ‘Tank Drop’ EP drops on Kittball Records on 1st December 2015.
