Rising rapper P$YCHEDELIC (Ballin’) and Insomniac Discovery Project artist Tate Sedar cement a growing artistic friendship with the release of latest single ‘Emotions’.
The post-EDM single, with its unique blend of analog and digital instruments, originally saw the light of day back in 2021 but after countless backstage interactions between the two acts over the past few years the addition of P$YCHEDELIC’s rolling vocals on top of Sedar’s funk-inspired cuts, hyper-rolling bass, and 808 drums delivered an edit both felt perfectly timed to release worldwide.
P$YCHEDELIC is most known for his debut single ‘Ballin”, which has already clocked up almost 5million views on YouTube alone, and recent verses on ‘CLICK’ by Ghengar (a.k.a Ghastly). When the two first met, however, the rising rap star was a veritable unknown, eager to speak with Sedar at Countdown NYE 2023 about his post-EDM work, which had made its way from Sedar’s base in San Francisco to the Detroit scene. Chatting backstage the pair realised they shared similar frequencies in life, from mutual connections in music, to their passion for socialization and being artistically inspired by legends like Michael Jackson. Staying in touch, the pair frequently spoke about the pressures of success and failure inside the industry, with P$YCHEDLIC confiding in Sedar how his fast rise up the ranks weighed heavily on him, inducing sleepless nights and stress. These open talks led to the creation of P$YCHEDELIC’s verses on top of Sedar’s renewed production, ‘Emotions’ being the end result. The song is the embodiment of how art is truly circumstantial of friendship and the connections we create within the human experience.
