Taylor Torrence and Kyra Mastro Cast Their Spell-Binding, Vocal-Led Hard Techno Collab “Voodoo” on Dreamstate Records

Based out of Los Angeles, fast-rising future trance force Taylor Torrence reunites with Canadian singer/songwriter Kyra Mastro for their entrancing vocal-driven collab “Voodoo.” Out on July 18th via Dreamstate Records, the release cements the synergistic connection they’ve shared across a string of singles this year.

“Voodoo” is an alchemic hard techno track for all the ravers looking to have their brain chemistry altered for the better. Mastro’s icy, spellbinding hooks feel closer to an actual incantation, with Torrence conjuring up a groove that will leave the dancefloor powerless to its driving, high-octane mind control. The vocal line loops incessantly throughout the run, creating a captivating anchor point as the soundscape expands from deep, cosmic trance melodies into epic, adrenalized slashes and slices. Merging rumbling psy basslines with razor-sharp techno stabs, spacey bleep tones, and a Pavlovian rave whistle, the peak-time concoction contains all the right components to keep club- and festival-goers hooked on its charm.

After road-testing the single at some of the largest festivals in the Western hemisphere, Taylor Torrence knew he was sitting on a certified weapon. Describing the track and recounting the crowd’s reaction, he shares: “This one’s pure rave energy. I wasn’t trying to follow any rules. I just wanted to make something that felt wild, fast, and addictive. The second drop always explodes live. I started ‘Voodoo’ after a run of shows where I felt like the crowd wanted something harder but still fun. I built it around a cheeky whistle riff and a vocal that cuts through instantly. It became one of my most in-demand IDs at festivals like EDC Mexico and Dreamstate. It’s a blend of tension, bounce, and release—the kind of track that doesn’t just sit in a set, it hijacks it.”

Over the last few years, Torrence has carved out his own niche within the dance space. Dissecting the connective tissue between trance and techno, his trademark sound has positioned him to land on coveted festival lineups, including EDC Mexico, Dreamstate SoCal, Beyond Wonderland, and recently closed out the quantumVALLEY stage at EDC Las Vegas with a sunrise set. His presence on Dreamstate been remained constant for both the live events and label side, as “Voodoo” marks the third entry for the label, following on from his previous outings: last year’s thunderous solo number “Flashpoint,” as well as the Jorza-assisted slamming collab “Come With Me” in 2023.

This year alone, the potent pairing between Taylor Torrence and Kyra Mastro has put out two back-to-back singles, “IDGAF” and “Mona Lisa,” which have racked up more than one 1.2 million combined streams. The response has been absolutely electric, and builds upon an already impressive catalog of collaborators she’s worked with, including Cat Dealers, Felguk, DLMT, Bruno Be, and more. With more than 35 millions streams attached to her name, Mastro’s music has been met with solid editorial support, featured in Spotify playlists from the likes of mint, Dance Rising, Cardio, Summer Hits and more.

“Voodoo” flaunts the growing chemistry between Torrence and Mastro with its cinematic blend of heavy techno, spellbinding trance, and ominous vocals that will fuel many long nights as festival season 2025 rages on.
