Chicago-based duo Teknicoz have teamed up with female emcee Farrah Fawx for a brand new single ‘Never Basic’ out now as part of the Dirtybird’s 20th anniversary.
Anthemic from the jump, ‘Never Basic’ is a swagger-heavy cut that will instantly turn heads on the dancefloor. The track bounces into action with thick basslines, edgy percussion, and a saucy vocal performance from Farrah Fawx that leave no room for subtlety. Her sass-laced flow slices through Teknicoz’s thumping production, resulting in a track that’s built to blow out speakers and expectations alike.
Chicago-born and bred duo Teknicoz is flipping the underground scene with a raw, high-energy sound. Teknicoz made their Dirtybird debut in 2018 with ‘The Pipe’, following up with collaborations like 2019’s ‘The Shaker’ with Noise Clap, ‘I Like It’ with Luke Andy, and 2021’s ‘Booty’ with JYNX. ‘Never Basic’ arrives ahead of Teknicoz’s upcoming performances at Dirtybird Campout x Northern Nights and Dirtybird CampINN.
Virginia-born, LA-based Farrah Fawx is a multi-faceted singer-songwriter, creative director, and entrepreneur. Her fusion of groovy house and rhythmic rap have landed her collaborations with Rochelle Jordan, Stooki Sound, and RaeCola and made her a frequent face on Aluna’s Noir Fever Records. After appearing at Dirtybird and Noir Fever’s joint Miami Music Week showcase, ‘Never Basic’ marks Farrah Fawx’s first appearance on the label.
