Tel Aviv-based Oi unveils his debut project via his own label, Yaffa Records – a 5-track EP released under the same name, ‘Yaffa.’ Giving way to driving grooves and bold melodic flavour, the production reveals new dimensions to Oi and his ever-developing sound.
A label founded in memory of Omer Inbar’s mother, the seasoned Producer, DJ, and Sound Engineer behind the Oi name, this marks just one more step within his creative journey. Having launched the Oi project to delve deeper into new sonic territories and build on years of experience on the Electronic Music scene, he now sets his sights on furthering his impact within the community, aiming to amplify both his sound and approach. With an ambition to bring story-led soundscapes to listeners, Oi’s Yaffa Records steps into the Electronic Music space with a clear goal: to deliver a unique and refreshing energy through releases that fuse emotion, groove, and cultural flavour. His new EP embodies that vision, a debut offering that puts this approach in full motion.
Throughout the 5 tracks, driving House rhythms meet organic instrumentals and dynamic basslines, culminating in a rich and textured collection. From the almost experimental title-track ‘Yaffa’, to the Spanish vocal layers, mariachi-like horn lines, and guitar licks within ‘Pasi Del Alma’, the catchy vocal hooks and bright motifs of ‘You Got Me,’ the festive ‘Luma’, to the deep and energetic ‘Desert Blood’, the diverse influences shaping Oi’s signature sound are on full display, lining up with his considered approach towards contemporary sound design. The bouncy, playful synth details and robust low-end of each track keep the energy moving, as pounding kicks and interlocked percussion weave in, locking the listener into a journey of sonic discovery.
