Tenement Trail Festival Drops First Artist Announcement…

Tenement TV – the team behind Scotland’s biggest and best platform for music discovery- are dlighted to reveal the first names for Tenement Trail festival 2017 including headliners and previous Rolling Stones support band The Temperance Movement, Anteros, The Big Moon, Catholic Action, Dead Pretties, Emme Woods, Fauves, LIFE, Lucia, Rascalton, Stevie Parker and Sway with many more to be announced in coming weeks.

Today’s line-up launches this year’s Tenement Trail; Scotland’s festival for music discovery. The event is sponsored by Tennent’s Lager and promises over 12 hours of the best music across 10 music venues in Glasgow on Saturday 30th September 2017.

Tenement Trail will bring the very best in local talent as well as an incredible mix of international touring bands, bringing life to the best live music venues in Glasgow. The line-up features a massive mix of female artists on the line-up, celebrating the immense female talent around the UK right now. TT17 takes place in O2 ABC, O2 ABC2, The Garage, G2, The Attic, King Tut's, Broadcast, Nice N Sleazy, The Priory & Flat 0/1.

Guitar heroes and Scottish icons, The Temperance Movement’s two hit records, a tour with rock ‘n’ roll royality The Rolling Stones and sold out shows across the country are all notable in their success story. If their last sold-out Glasgow Barrrowlands’ show in 2016 is anything to go by, we’re in for surfing crowds, pints in the air and a rock ‘n’ roll performance powerful enough to alight any Saturday night.  The band will take part in an exclusive Instagram Takeover@tenementtv on Wednesday from 12:00 to celebrate their headline show at #TT17. Go check it out!

One of the biggest buzz bands around the UK right now, female-fronted Anteros recently released their debut EP via Distiller Records following touring cameos with Two Door Cinema Club and Sundara Karma. Headlines shows in London will put the band in great stead for a Saturday night with Glasgow’s biggest music fans at #TT17.

A band that were the highlight of The Great Escape in 2016, The Big Moon blew us away for the second year running at the Brighton festival last week. The female-led band are fresh off the heels of SXSW and releasing their debut record via Fiction Records. Expect catchy tunes and a hypnotic performance from the London-quartet.

Local Glasgow band Catholic Action have been on a massive journey over the past 2 years since bagging a spot on the Tennent’s Lager T Break Stage in 2015, they’ve hit SXSW and BBC Introducing stages in recent weeks. Catholic Action are one of Scotland’s most promising bands with national airplay, sold-out shows and star performances testiment of that.

Guitar wildcard Dead Pretties are famous for their crazed live gigs. Their self-destructive, erratic nature bringing energy and fire to the shows. Passionate ideals and tunes to leave a dent in your memory and eardrums, Dead Pretties are just the ticket for that hungry Glasgow music crowd.

Fresh from a strong showing at Radio 1’s Big Weekend and with a steady stream of high profile appearances ahead of her, we’re excited to bring the hotly-tipped Stevie Parker to Glasgow for what is sure to be a star-making performance for her north of the border. The proponent of an invigorating electro-pop sound that is made all the more captivating by her inimitable vocals, Parker’s recent album ‘The Cure’ makes for an incredible listen and we can’t wait to see her bring it to life before our very eyes in September.

Scottish acts Emme Woods, Fauves, Lucia, Rascalton and Sway are a perfect demonstration of the immense local talent on the scene and band’s TTV are delighted to reveal in the first wave announcement. Glasgow’s Rascalton fended off hundreds of applicants to win the 2016 competition to open the festival and are back on the bill in 2017 after impressing the masses with latest single ‘Is This It’.

Tenement TV Founder Chae Houston commented: “This marks the fifth ever Tenement Trail festival and this year, we mean business. Tenement Trail has always been a celebration of the best talent in Scotland and we’re delighted to have The Temperance Movement head up the bill. We’ve worked with the band many times in the past and what they bring to their live show is unbeatable.  Rascalton won our opening slot competition last year, so it’s brilliant to have them back on this year’s bill. It’s going to be some party!”

Tennent’s Lager Sponsorship and Events Exec, Nicola Cooper added: “Tennent’s Lager have been supporting Scotland’s live music scene for over two decades and Tenement Trail is the perfect collaboration for Scotland’s favourite pint! We can’t wait to unveil more exciting bands alongside Tenement TV and bring the biggest ever Tenement Trail to the masses this September.”
Tickets for Tenement Trail 2017 are on sale now at Early Bird prices of just £15. Over 50 bands will tip the bill of this year’s festival so fans are urged to purchase tickets quick to avoid disappointment here – http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/event/360052B79E0B2FE8
