Terminal V Announces New Stages, Splits, Weekend Residents and More
It has been two and a half years in the making but now the final countdown is on to the massively anticipated return of Terminal V Festival. On 16th and 17th April, Edinburgh’s Royal Highland Centre.
More than 80 international acts will imprint their musical mark on Terminal V over 22 hours, with 6 exclusive back-to-back sets, 6 live sets and a handful of weekend residents playing twice across both days.
It will be arguably the biggest event of it’s kind in the UK as an indoor music festival, yet slightly hybrid with the addition for Easter 2022 of a new outdoor area. The site will be transformed like never before with 5 main indoor stages running across all of the huge interconnected halls of the venue as well as the new large additional outside area surrounding the halls with 2 further enclosed stages and more attractions.
Now more exciting details can be revealed with which artist plays which stage over the weekend.
Three of the most iconic stages are back by popular demand; AREA V, THE TERMINAL and THE GREEN HOUSE make their return having all been newly designed and upgraded. Area V promises an all encompassing, state of the art arena festival experience, with space for 6,000 on it’s dancefloor while The Terminal guarantees the same mind-blowing levels of production but with a contrasting stage design to Area V. The Green House shakes this up, bringing a lighter vibe to the festival and playing host to the housier acts to grace the festival on the weekend.
3 brand new stages will feature over the weekend HANGAR, THE BLACKBOX, CARGO. HANGAR brings another large main arena stage with an exciting, most unique mind blowing creative design, while the newly founded BLACKBOX stage incorporates a low ceiling and atmospheric minimal lighting to create an intimate atmosphere; pulling you away from the big room festival feel. The third new arrival, CARGO, will see festival-goers encapsulated in an enveloping stage, and brought to life by an array of immersive lighting from all angles.
April will also see the return of their THE PALMS TENT, a 7th stage curated alongside Edinburgh’s Paradise Palms record label especially focused on local talent.
Special back to backs take place on Saturday featuring Marcel Dettmann b2b Stingray 313 on Area V, Alan Fitzpatrcik b2b Rebuke on The Terminal and Ben UFO b2b Helena Hauff and Octo Octa b2b Eris Drew on Cargo, and on Sunday on Cargo, Steffi and Virginia.
Saturday will host world class live shows from 99999999 and Reinier Zonneveld in The Hangar, on Sunday Detroit hero Robert Hood plays live on Area V, techno wizard KiNK is live in The Hangar and Blackbox sees more live shows from UK talents Planetary Assault Systems and local legend Stephen Brown.
Saturday will see the 6000 capacity Area V stage headlined by the likes of Amelie Lens, Sven Vath, Dax J and Helena Hauff, 3500 people will go wild on The Terminal stage to Alan Fitzpatrick, Joyhauser, Deborah de Luca and T78, while the more intimate Cargo welcomes Haai, Dr Rubinstein, and Shanti Celeste. The Hangar will bounce to the sounds of Kobosil, VTSS and more, The Green House brings Floorplan, Ewan McVicar, Kornél Kovács, Mike Servito and Luke Solomon and Blackbox is all about Hector Oaks, Frazier, Regal, Alignment and more.
On the Sunday, Area V finds Nina Kraviz return with FJAAK, Fraz.ier, Kobosil and Paula Temple, The Terminal is will see Green Velvet, Eats Everything, Solardo, Rebuke, Eli Brown and Jamie Roy lay it down, while Cargo hosts Male Grab, Special Request, Young Marco and Effy. The Hangar has Maceo Plex, Tale Of Us, Mind Against, Tijana T and Man Power, The Green House brings house vibes with Chaos in the CBD, Keri Chandler, Cinthie, Prins Thomas, Hammer, Roi Perez and more and Blackbox is home to Perc, Ben Sims, Rolando, Wallis and IDA.
The scene is set after over 2 years of planning for 40,000 people to descend upon the Scottish capital from all over europe. Ticket holders’ anticipation and excitement is sure to be high for Terminal V’s most ambitious event. Do not miss it.
