Notoriously eclectic artist Defex links with vocalist Nikki Belle for a summer-ready single, ‘Dance With Somebody.’
Defex does it all from deep house to dark techno and everything in between. He is an integral part of the Ibiza scene and a key member of the famous Zoo Project family who also releases on labels like Terminal M, Gigolo and Kourai Khrysea. He is a dexterous DJ who loops, edits and remixes on the fly and here he joins forces with the talented Nikki Belle.
The charming ‘Dance With Somebody’ has drums that are so well swung they immediately draw you in. They come with big bass stabs that bring the funk, and stiff hits to add bite and edge to the whole groove. But what really sets it off is the vocal, which arrives during the breakdown and soars on falsetto refrains that swell the heart and drip with soul. It is well treated and frankly irresistible for big sing-alongs. A shorter edit and an instrumental version are also included in this essential package.
With summer here, this is a perfectly playful and crowd-pleasing tune.
