Stephen Kirkwood has done it again with this release of ‘The Blitz’. Based on a true story of what happened in WWII. The track is based on the blitz in Clydebank, Scotland. Stephen grew up in Clydebank with his grandparents telling him stories of the WWII. In 1941 a place called Clydebank was on the receiving end of a major bombing campaign by the German Luftwaffe, the town was largely destroyed and it suffered the worst destruction and civilian loss of life in all of Scotland. Stephen got inspired by the stories of his grandparents and especially his musical granddad. Stephen Kirkwood is a name who’s fast becoming synonymous within the tech-trance community, and his latest release sees the Scottish producer lay down another claim to those who are calling him a master of both tech & trance. ‘The Blitz’ is a suitably titled track which sees a trademark lashing of Stephen’s tech-tinged melody driven compositions. With aggressive, rumbling bass accompanied by a delicate piano-led mid-section & melodies, ‘The Blitz’ perfectly balances both driving trance with euphoric, emotional melody. With recent remixes for Lange himself, Stephen Kirkwood continues to impress with another huge release on Lange Recordings.
