The BPM Festival Announces Global Expansion Plans in Brazil and Europe for 2017

As its ten-day, ten-year anniversary festivities hit full stride, The BPM Festival announced plans to expand the BPM brand globally with two new festivals in Brazil and Portugal in 2017.

The BPM Festival: Brazil will be taking place this spring, from April 28 – May 1, 2017 in the picturesque beach resort towns of Praia Brava, Itajai and Balneário Camboriú with Brazilian partner Gustavo Conti, owner of highly acclaimed Warung Beach Club. The open-air venue, famous for its golden sunrises, has been consistently ranked in the top 25 in the DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs poll and is often cited as one of the “best clubs in the world” by many of the world's most renowned underground DJs.

Across the pond in Europe, The BPM Festival: Portugal will be held in an untapped beach region in September 2017. The festival will be partnering with Will Gregory with more details to be announced.

Since The BPM Festival’s inception in 2008, the simple idea of friends dancing on a sandy beach in winter, sparked by Co-Founders and Directors Craig Pettigrew and Phillip Pulitano has ignited the international dance music scene on the Mayan Riviera in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico over the last ten years. Both co-founders reflected on the festival’s growth and the influence it extends in kicking off each new year as it looks towards global expansion.

“BPM’s organic growth over the last 10 years speaks to the integrity of the artists and the music that we present. We’re proud to have launched a dozen plus DJ careers and be a stand out platform for quality underground music. We are looking forward to expanding our vision and festival family aesthetic to Brazil and Portugal ” said Craig Pettigrew.

Phillip Pulitano continued, “after 10 years of honing our craft, we’re ready to take our grand show on the road. We hope to continue our commitment to diverse and forward-thinking lineups and expand to new territories and show the beauty of the different countries to our international fans who are the true techno tourists.”
