DJ and producer Pete Zorba releases on Manchester's Kaluki Musik this December, featuring a collaboration with Nick Hussey and a remix from Darius Syrossian.
Established in 2010, Kaluki Music has gone from running events at Sankeys in Manchester to clubs around the world, and today with the same focus and attention to detail releases dance floor ready cuts through the Kaluki Music record label. Here we see resident Pete Zorba, utilises his experience of playing at some of Europe’s best clubs including Space Ibiza, Sankeys and The Zoo Project to deliver more high quality house on the label.
Pete Zorba combines with Arch 9 owner Nick Hussey for opener ‘Faker’, an array of vocal samples and room recordings sit effortlessly atop a clean and well balanced four-to-the-floor beat whilst an acid laced hook allows the energy of the track to build.
Zorba’s solo contribution to the release ‘Climbing Walls’ follows showcasing a rumbling low end and groove-driven percussion which provides the foundations for a rhythmic vocal to fade in and out of the foreground with the introduction of tension building risers and transitions.
Do Not Sleep resident, Darius Syrossian then closes the release with his take on ‘Climbing Walls’, a cleaner bass line and a drum track that centres around the rhythm of the cowbell sets up a brief yet effective synth melody which creates powerful impact when the drums return.
Pete Zorba’s ‘The Charlatan EP’ drops on Kaluki Musik on 5th December 2017.
