Currently on their Night Safari 2 tour, DBN have put out another stomping track to add to their roster of bass-heavy electro-house releases. Their latest offering is an impressive remix of The Drill’s classic track ‘The Drill’ and is released alongside a remastered version of the chart-topping original and a monstrous, bass-driven remix from dance music’s superstar twins NERVO. DBN’s remix of the ‘The Drill’ is out now on Matt Schwartz's imprint Destined Records and is available to purchase via all digital retailers.
In true signature style, DBN have once again displayed their ability to create thunderous, heavy-hitting electro bass-lines with insurmountable energy. From the outset, the kick features alongside warped synths – amping up the energy and setting the pace for the rest of the track. The original track’s iconic sampling is readily identified before the weighty bass is brought back in. Stripped-down percussive leads and the modulated, razor-edged electro melody are perfectly executed, showcasing the trio’s skilfully deployed talent for catchy, well-produced dance music. A second build gathers momentum again before the track’s epic break-down and a gradual reintroduction of the groove – a tactic that is sure to have dance-floors moving in no time.
2015 has been a prolific year for the German production trio, with a relentless touring schedule and multiple new releases in the bag – not to mention the running of their highly successful labels RUN DBN and RUN DEEP records. The next few weeks will see DBN feature in a fly-on-the-wall documentary about their lives on tour while the guys will undoubtedly be preparing for a huge start to 2016.
