The eighth volume of Moon Harbour’s Orbiter series is packed with four more essential house cuts

The eighth volume of Moon Harbour’s Orbiter series is here and is packed with four more essential house cuts from fresh talents Ammo Avenue, Bassel Darwish and Ben Kim.

First up is Peruvian Ammo Avenue, one of house music’s most exciting newcomers and someone whose tunes have been played by tastemakers such as Eats Everything, Latmun and Solardo. He impresses again here with the freaky ‘Enjoy Yourself’, a raw and atmospheric house sound with whispered female vocals luring you in close before a paranoid synth lead breaks out. The stripped-back drums keep you locked before a second, brain-frying synth line burrows deep.

Barcelona-born Bassel Darwish is a Solid Grooves resident and founder of the Distance Music label. He is one of Beatport’s most charted artists thanks to his signature infectious sound. His ‘Lami’ is perfectly programmed tech funk, with slapping hits and tropical drums overlaid with a characterful vocal. It’s got that steamy, outdoor summer feel that always makes an impact and an irresistible bassline holding it all together.

Last of all is Italy’s Ben Kim, a new school artist inspired by the English and European underground and already signed to Repopulate Mars, Sola and Gorgon City’s Realm Records. His ‘The Move’ is dark and loopy, with hits that slap, drums swinging down low and a moody vocal for heads-down dancing. It’s full of smart filters and effects that add extra detail to light up the grooves.

Orbiter VIII is another vital source of fresh house weaponry from a trio of next-generation talents.
