PBR presents Ann Streichman – The Flow EP, with remixes from DJ Sneak, Terry Grant and Kells. Out on all digital platforms 29th June.
Point Blank Recordings veer towards the dance floor for their second release with this summery slice of electro-pop by New York-based artist Ann Streichman. On remix duty, we’ve enlisted house royalty in DJ Sneak, a soulful house veteran in Terry Grant and PBR favourite, Kells.
Ann Streichman is a multi-faceted artist from New York City. Her works spans a variety of disciplines and media, be it DJ sets (including before a speech given by Barak Obama at the Streicker centre earlier this year), sound design for tv ads, films and fashion campaigns (Tranwreck, Vicarious, Rinat Brodach), expletive-ridden conceptual pop (Munch) or her own productions – marrying her pop sensibility with a punk attitude and a penchant for the bizarre.
For the radio edit Terry Grant delivers a rounded, poised club track, perfect for those outdoor terrace or boat parties anywhere from here to the Adriatic and the original track delves into the day-glo vibe of 80s new wave: all loose chords and a bouncy, sultry energy. Of the remixes, Chicago legend DJ Sneak turns in a jacking house bomb in the way that only he can, while Kells is back once again after his contribution to PBR 001 with a deeper, more emotive cut, wrapping mournful keys around a trademark skittish garage beat.
