After 2014’s incredible season of events, The Hydra closes proceedings with a three days of parties hosted by Bugged Out and Electric Minds. 2015 is welcomed in at Studio Spaces E1 with a lineup of the most in demand DJs from across the world. Last year’s event was on the lips of club goers for many months and The Hydra have put together an even more impressive cast for 2014.
Opening proceedings for the final event of the year is Bugged Out which celebrated its twentieth birthday this year and certified its status as the UK’s longest running club night. Bringing the anniversary party to a close is a roster of incredible talent who have all contributed to the success of Bugged Out throughout the years. Returning to The Hydra after last year’s incredible event is former Mixmag DJ of the Year Erol Alkan. He closes 2014 and is joined by Daniel Avery and his unique burbling electronic stylings. Newcomer Ghost Culture brings his bedroom produced jerky electronica out into the club with Morgan Hammer and Brendan Long adding to the lineup for the first part of the marathon. There are also two more huge additions to the bill which will be announced at a later date.
The first sunrise of 2015 will be soundtracked by the inimitable duo of Four Tet and Daphni in a massive eight-hour b2b set. After years of experience playing together these sets are an exhibition of true DJing talent. Drawing from their extensive back catalogues and a record collection that goes deeper and more obscure than most, the two are sure to deliver a highlight of the year on its first day.
Electric Minds close proceedings with a 12 hour showcase from some of the world’s finest talent. Trailblazing house and techno legend Dixon headlines with support from the John Talabot; who’s been in huge demand ever since 2012’s universally acclaimed fIN. Novel Sound label boss Levon Vincent makes an appearance alongside the ambient techno and house of Move D. John Roberts and Christian Loeffler will push the boundaries of their hardware in live sets with Dolan Bergin completing this mammoth occasion.
With even more guests to be announced, this lineup is only going to get more enviable. The Hydra is growing into an ever more powerful beast and the NYE/NYD show is the biggest show yet. ‘Exceptional Music, presented expertly’ has been the mission statement of The Hydra since day one. For the 2014 season it’s been mission accomplished again.
