After first appearing on MOOD Records in September 2013 alongside Carlo Lio, Canadian duo The Junkies impressed so much it was only fitting that they return with an EP of their own. On 21st July, The Junkies will drop the ‘Dance For Me EP’ which is made up of with two powerful and driving underground tracks.
A-side ‘Angst’ lives up to its name with potent percussion and a droning melody assaulting the listener from the off, it is an expertly made atmospheric techno roller full of tension.
On the flip side, title-track, ‘Dance For Me’, takes a different approach. This time sharp and distinctive hi-hats are complemented by warm chord stabs and a meandering bass line. The track sees a series of absorbing builds and drops, making perfectly designed for the dancefloor.
On the ‘Dance For Me EP’ it is easy to see why Nicole Moudaber asked The Junkies to return to her beloved MOOD Records.
