The Junkies (SCI+TEC, MOOD) return to Transmit Recordings with an all new EP titled “Forever” out May 3rd, featuring a remix from Toronto’s own Nathan Barato. The duo have been on a consistent uprise in the global techno scene with frequent presence on SCI+TEC, Mood Recordings and Rawthentic.
The Toronto born DJ/Producers Val and Vince were at the forefront of Toronto’s underground movement. Sculpting a unique style and sound throughout their years of DJing and making music back home, these two have broken into the international techno scene in a big way.
Their forthcoming EP “Forever” delivers the unique New School Tech Sound the boys are best known for. The 3-piece EP features 2 original works, and one remix from Union partner Nathan Barato.
The first track “Forever” is a growing beast of raw, authentic techno synths and layered claps. Building up around an eerie, and cryptic female vocal, each drop grows on a bellowing bassline as layers of hi-hats, claps and synths fuel this techno stormer right to the end. “Got To Do It” plays on their raw old school chicago sound working up on simplistic synths and kicks, filled with shaking hi-hats and percussions. The low, deep bass will permeate the space its palying in. Nathan Barato’s remix of “Got To Do It” shakes up the pace, giving it a chuggy tech-house sound, with a bit of a raw house vibe in the bass formation.
