The levels - The levels

The Levels is a new name in music, but the artists behind are not. Colliding three different worlds the longstanding music heavyweights Alia Fresco (Denmark), Loxy (UK), and Resound (Finland) are now releasing the self titled debut EP as The Levels after two years of collaboration. Their specific purpose is to create future soul music that will leave an imprint with the listeners.

“It’s a bit twisted, like if Sade had a child with Darth Vader” – The Levels.

It wasn’t until the photo session for the EP in January 2015 that the trio actually met in real life. Until then everything happened online and it was all about the music.  Andrew and Ilpo had wanted to do some music with a vocalist for quite a while already and Alia was looking to explore the more experimental sounds on deeper levels than where she came from. So The Levels was formed as a platform to create something musically neither of the three had done before.

The result is their self titled 4 track debut EP ‘The Levels’ spiked with Nordic melancholy and Alia’s distinctive vocals over downtempo electronica fused with moody Soul and Drum & Bass. ‘Remember’ is a collaboration with electronic sample junkie Re-Drum and also comes with a ‘Love Dub’ rework from D&B Star Om Unit (slated for release on the remix package later this year). Also featured on EP is collaboration with D&B veteran dBridge on ‘We Could Be’. This is just the beginning of The Levels story.
