It’s double trouble as we go US/UK for Greco x Mad Villains’ The Music EP, a triple portion of finely tuned beats, snipped vocals and sweet rhythms from two of the new generation of house people: New York’s Greco and the Californian relocated to Leeds, Mad Villains.
Greco has already built a formidable discography with releases on Low Steppa’s Simma Red and Black imprints, J Paul Getto’s Fogbank, Nervous, Rawsome and Dopewax while Mad Villains has crafted a similarly impressive resume with the likes of Toolroom, Madhouse, and KMS, among others.
The deadly duo’s firing formula – a blend of ghetto house, UK garage and 90s New York – is augmented on The Music by talented singer Aisha Zoe and on Slay by Chicago beatmaker turned vocalist KE (aka Kid Enigma). Final track Lil’ Bit is pure trackwork as Greco and Mad Villians get back to basics.
