Breakthrough Scottish singer-songwriter Tom Walker is added to the glamorous bill, alongside Emeli Sandé, Nina Nesbitt and Lewis Capaldi, to celebrate Scotland’s music scene whilst raising essential funds for Nordoff Robbins Scotland.
Nordoff Robbins Scotland and sponsors SSE today announce an exciting addition to the SSE Scottish Music Awards, taking place at Glasgow’s Old Fruitmarket on 2nd December, with Tom Walker set to perform at the glittering ceremony, which has been Nordoff Robbins Scotland’s biggest fundraiser since 1996.
Funds raised on the night are a vital part of the charity’s ability to provide music therapy to over 400 vulnerable children and adults across the country every week, from Dundee and Perth to Glasgow and Edinburgh. As the one month countdown to the awards ceremony begins, more sensational acts will be added to the bill in the coming weeks.
2017’s awards will be another unmissable event in the Scottish music calendar, with Scottish stars Emeli Sandé and Nina Nesbitt joining breakthrough artists such as Tom Walker and Lewis Capaldi at the ceremony.
Tom Walker is nominated for the Best UK Newcomer sponsored by Hampden Cars, recognising the phenomenal year the young Glasgow-born, Manchester-raised artist has had. Since his debut single ‘Sun Goes Down’ in March 2016, heartfelt songs like Just You & I, Heartland and current single Leave A Light On have earned over 62 million streaming plays and huge BBC Radio 1 playlist support via their prestigious Brits List. Tom has just finished a US support tour with The Script and plays a headline UK tour and dates across Europe with Hurts in November. Tom plays at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on November 21st followed by the SSE Scottish Music Awards on December 2nd, which will be a homecoming show to remember.
With only one month to go until one of the best nights in the Scottish music calendar, crowds gathered at Glasgow’s Old Fruitmarket on 2nd December have a jam-packed evening of entertainment to enjoy with performances from Tom Walker, Emeli Sandé, Nina Nesbitt and Lewis Capaldi plus more to be announced in the coming weeks. The awards ceremony celebrates the best of Scottish and UK music whilst simultaneously providing crucial fundraising for vulnerable children and adults across Scotland, for music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins Scotland.
2016’s winners and attendees included Travis, Amy MacDonald, The Lapelles and Twin Atlantic and 2017 looks to be even bigger and better than before. For tickets to the 2017’s SSE Scottish Music Awards please contact: simon@nrscot.org.uk.
