Laidback Luke’s Ones To Watch sub-imprint of Mixmash Records has been persistently dedicated to breaking the finest new talents from around the world over the last year. Helping to bring through the likes of Blasterjaxx, D.O.D, Will Sparks & Joel Fletcher, Delivio Reavon & Aaron Gill, Juyen Sebulba and many more – the breeding ground for fresh prospects has proved a more than successful endeavour and resulted in an ever-growing library of names to keep a close eye on in the future. The latest addition to the fold is Croatian duo The Trixx who’ve teamed up with Nuthin’ Under A Million for ‘Forever’ – a fine Electro House release that’ll be a must have for the Mixmash fan base and beyond.
‘Forever’ is no doubt a well put together production with a distinctive breakdown with a simplistic lead loop that’s fresh and spared of the typical washed in reverb and delay treatment that most modern electronic synths come with. Whilst the lead may be raw, the underlying pad synths are distinctive, inventive and blend with the lead to give the breakdown a highly euphoric flash that’s elevated further still by the airy vocal lines. The main body of the drop is built around a classic pitch bent Electro House bass that dominates most of the lower end frequencies, no doubt a selling point for label boss Laidback Luke, a known advocate of this style over the years. Once again it’s another ‘One To Watch’ from the Mixmash family who are spoiling us all for choice when it comes to hot prospects.
‘Forever’ is out now exclusively at Beatport.
