T in the Park festival organisers DF Concerts and founding partner Tennent’s Lager have today announced that local lads The View will make their 8th appearance at the festival in July, joining the celebrations of the festival’s historic first year at its home, Strathallan Castle.
Chart-topping local heroes The View have been causing epic crowd reactions since forming ten years ago, playing T in the Park seven times since. Releasing four albums including their number one platinum selling debut Hats Off to the Buskers, the band have had three top 10 records during their stellar career.
The band are set to release their heavily-anticipated fifth album later this year which has been given the studio polish from co-producer and international star Albert Hammond Jr of the legendary band The Strokes. Their first single off the record is called Marriage and due out 20th April, produced by Albert Hammond Jr & Gus Oberg (The Strokes) and mixed by Justin Gerrish (Vampire Weekend).
Signed to Cooking Vinyl record label alongside other indie elite including T in the Park 2015 headliners The Libertines off-shoot band Carl Barât & The Jackals, The View have toured internationally since forming in 2005.
The View are huge favourites with the T in the Park crowd, and their famous ‘The View are on fire’ tagline is testament to their incredible live presence. They’re sure to be a highlight of the weekend this July.
Kyle Falconer from the band said: “Just found out we’ve been announced and am absolutely buzzing! T in the Park is our favourite festival and has always supported us. It’s a pleasure to play to such a fun crowd, you can’t beat a Scottish crowd! Bonus that we’ll get to see The Libertines too…”
