Of Monsters & Men - Thousand Eyes

After recent success off the back of a big remix for Cenote Records, Los Angeles based Parcel is back with another fine release. Again it is a remix, and this time it finds the American tackling ’Thousand Eyes’ by popular Icelandic indie folk band Of Monsters And Men.

Parcel is Tarek Nasr, a DJ and producer who has been playing drums since school and making and playing beats since soon after. He is an artist who creates a real musical experience full of emotion, groove and takes his cues from Chicago house, jazz, funk, soul and Detroit techno. He releases on labels like Death Proof, Loco Records and Motek Music but this new one is a self-released affair.

Fusing house and tech into his own slick forms, this remix is one that builds slowly but is all consuming as a result. Wriggling drums make you want to do the same, poised bass notes bring some deepness and airy vocals sound all heavenly up top. Some splendid melody work adds majesty and hummable musicality and the whole track is elegant and perfectly balanced so as to sweep up all who hear it. This is another great artistic statement from Parcel who continues to prove he is a fine underground talent. The release also comes with an exclusive music video featuring a twisted Los Angeles landscape that provides the perfect accompaniment to this stellar mix
