Olivier Weiter (Einmusika, Armada Deep) resurrects the classic dutch progressive trance track “Greece 2000” with his remix out April 7th on Armada Deep. Olivier is one of Amsterdam’s prized producers and DJs whose made quite the impression with his progressive tech meets trance sound. Weiters sheer talent is demonstrated in his original productions and remix work, and has seen releases on top labels such as Einmusika, Armada, SUDBeat and Parquet Recordings. Illustrating his creativity and talent, Olivier Weiter has taken one of the 90’s biggest trance tracks “Greece 2000” by Three Drives and has given it a fresh new sound.
The track was originally released in 1997 by the dutch progressive trance duo Three Drives (Three Drives on A Vinyl) on Massive Drive Recordings. The song has been considered a reference to a lot of trance productions, that were released following “Greece 2000” in the last 90’s and early 2000’s. The Original track features your classic kick-drum, trancey leads, a bassy beat and a progressive build-up. Olivier Weiter preserves some of the tracks authentic trance chords while adding more of a tech-house vibe with a slowed down tempo and added synths and hi-hats. The bass and kick have a more dominating presence in the remix, than the original. Weiter also plays with a trumpet sounding chord in the remix which adds interesting dimension and atmosphere to the track.
