UK house and techno talent Tim Green is also one of the main players at Cocoon Recordings and as such he now returns to the label for his fifth release with them. The excellent EP, entitled Eclipse, features a pair of essential club tracks that are sure to be massive this summer.
London based Tim Green is a master of the typical Cocoon sound: his musical output is full of energy featuring colourful melodies and compelling grooves. He composes like a painter paints, layer by layer, and all based on a solid but perfect foundation. He also does this on his own label Disco Over Music and has also released on My Favorite Robot Records as well as Get Physical. Green’s new release for Cocoon is no exception to his fine run of recent form.
Up first, the moody and broody ‘Eclipse’ is a big production with massive melody parts wrapped in a minimal, drum driven framework. Green’s beats and bass programming are spot on and make for engaging listening throughout, whilst the overall mood is dark and deep.
Then comes ‘Thieves’, a more lively, peak time sounding track with clipped vocals, melodies that ride the scale up and down and heavy wood block hits. It’s fulsome house with a real sense of grandeur and will have ‘floors filled in no time.
This EP is full of the perfect sounds for all those upcoming open air festivals with its sentimental mood and on point groove that just makes you wanna dance.
