Time Warp’s unbeatable production

Besides showcasing the best techno artists in the world all under one roof, Time Warp is the most visceral way to experience the music. With state of the art stage design and technology providing a unique dimension to this all-star spectacular, attention to detail is paramount. There is no other event in the world that delivers such a mind-blowing sensory trip.

All six stages in the Time Warp Mannheim arena are designed to cast a spell over the epic crowd. With production values that have remained integral to the unrivalled success of Time Warp, it’s the cutting edge production and high-end engineering that sets this event apart from the rest. In particular, the stage designs give Time Warp its very own look and feel. Although the word “stage design” is a little misleading, as in fact, it is the entire space that’s illuminated with designs and structures that evolve with the patterns in the music. Artist collectives, technicians and interdisciplinary creative people from all over the world help to make this happen. The result of these collaborations are the so-called “Signature Floors” such as the Cave 1.0 and 2.0. These are large-scale installations, which transport the crowd from one moment to another in various optical worlds. One moment an ice cave, the next moment turning into a flaming hell, depending on the colours and rhythms of the more than 400 lamps of the installation. This year the technical team is working on some fresh designs for Mannheim, bringing back Cave 2.0 and introducing some surprises. Constantly experimenting with the relationship between music and technology, Time Warp continues its quest to turn sound into a physical experience.
