For Torio, House music is something that’s been ingrained into his DNA from birth. As one half of internationally acclaimed production pairing Sephano & Torio – he’s no stranger to receiving support from the cream of the DJ elite, but he’s also making music just as impactful on his own. Fresh off the back of the buzz around his official remix of Tiesto’s classic ‘Just Be’ – Torio’s once again navigating towards the top end of the sales charts, a place he’s made his home. Already releasing with the likes of Black Hole, Ultra and Flamingo Recordings, Torio’s back with a bang, this time on Peak Hour, with a suitably peak time anthem.
Uplifting, understated and euphoric leads create the most memorable moments in the production of ‘Ever After’. It’s something Torio does to perfection on almost every production and over the last year there’s already an album’s worth of these special melodic flashes that saturate the senses and ignite dance floors. Polina’s always-beautiful vocals provide an extra touch of class to what’s already a seriously high-end instrumental, taking this peak time production and giving it that extra vocal class that Polina delivers with such precision. The four to the floor kicks are broken by offbeat kick fills, another tract of Torio’s classy production work. Airy and euphoric throughout, ‘Ever After’ does just enough to send tingles down your spine, without ever veering into the realms of cheesy or over-production – something Torio seems to do with ease release after release. Already making a surge up the sales charts on release week, it’s surely another success story for a producer that doesn’t do anything but great, powerful and ultimately memorable dance music.
It’s been a huge year for Torio, who seems to have spent more time in the Beatport charts than not in 2014. Whether on his own or releasing under Sephano & Torio – he’s kept the output level cranked up to 11 and now with some of the most prodigious labels in the world on his side – it’s hard to think of anything but seriously big things ahead in 2015 and beyond.
