Trance Wax Showcases His Range on Cutting-Edge, Analog-Led 5-Track EP ‘Hold On 2 U’ for Dreamstate Records

Trance Wax returns to Dreamstate Records with ‘Hold On 2 U,’ a five-track EP arriving August 8, which showcases his signature blend of emotional trance, analog textures, and cross-genre fluency. The Belfast-based artist—also known as Ejeca—continues to deepen his connection with trance, reinterpreting the genre through the lenses of breakbeat, techno, and acid house.

The EP opens with its title track, “Hold On 2 U,” setting the tone with soaring arpeggios, raw vocals, and glimmering acid lines. Shuffling percussion and Eurodance-inspired leads build a cinematic tension, evoking ‘90s rave euphoria with a forward-thinking touch.

Each track is purposeful and distinct. “Your Fantasy” and “Neva Let You Go”—both previously released—highlight Trance Wax’s knack for emotional hooks and club-ready momentum. “Feel Your Love,” featuring Katy Alex, closes the EP on a high, layering a classic trance vocal over warm analog synths and a driving rhythm section.

E” hits with unrelenting force. Built around thunderous kick drums and a razor-edged acid synth, the track spirals into near-psychedelic territory. Its central arpeggiated acid line becomes increasingly sharp and urgent, threading through the mix like a livewire.

Support for the EP has come from every corner of the trance world, with Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Solarstone, and W&W all backing its singles via their esteemed radio shows. Media outlets including We Rave You, Trance Paradise, and Indie Dream have also shown early support.

Since launching Trance Wax in 2016, Garry McCartney has transformed the project from a vinyl-only bootleg series into a celebrated live act, known for hardware-heavy sets and collaborations with icons like Moya Brennan and Ferry Corsten. Releases on labels such as Armada and Anjunabeats—including 2022 hit “Open Up The Night”—have further solidified his role as a singular force in modern trance.

Following standout performances at EDC Las Vegas, Dreamstate San Francisco, and The Gathering Fest, Trance Wax is set to close out the season at the Nothing But Trouble finale at EDEN Ibiza—an ideal stage for his immersive sound.

Hold On 2 U’ reaffirms Trance Wax’s commitment to crafting dancefloor experiences that honor trance’s roots while fearlessly pushing its boundaries.
