Transmission Roundhouse is an exciting socially engaged audio and lifestyle platform for young people focusing on radical, experimental content and the diverse voices making it. This truly distinct and boundary-pushing platform will feature leading presenters from a mix of races, genders, sexualities and backgrounds and sets out with a manifesto to challenge preconceived notions of ‘talk radio’.
The station is a hub for niche, experimental, underground content as well as providing entertainment for an 18 – 25-year-old demographic although younger and older sonic adventurers are also welcome to lock in.
The station is made up of over 50 presenters and producers aged 18-25 broadcasting from the heart of Camden’s Roundhouse and is led by an all-female management team which challenges the set-up of established media outlets.

Station Manager Nicole Logan comments "This is a great step for Transmission Roundhouse as a station. The brand embodies the energy and outlook of those content creators, producers and presenters that power it. Transmission Roundhouse is a pioneering platform, showcasing the voices of a really diverse mix of young people who are talking about important subjects and producing ground-breaking content. The media world needs a platform like this, that is handed over to the under 30s, breaking the mould of typical radio management and better reflecting its listenership. It’s radical."
Transmission Roundhouse will launch on 3 March to coincide with the Roundhouse Rising festival. It includes two live podcast shows from Yak Attack with Chloe English on 3 March at 15:30, and Sistren: Talk The Ting Live with special guests: Tania Nwachukwu and Seye Isikalu from 14:00 on 4 March to coincide with Little Simz’s Welcome to Wonderland part II, plus live performances/ DJ sets from: BBZ, Roxxxvn, Lava La Rue, Tayylor Made, Jaja Kisses, ELLE, Nine8 Collective, COAH, Kirby Roseina and Erica Mckoy on the Transmission stage.
Transmission Roundhouse is powered by and broadcast from the heart of the Roundhouse. Previously called Roundhouse Radio, the station has grown consistently in listenership since its conception and has provided a solid proving ground for young presenters and producers. The decision to rebrand the station was undertaken to ensure that the look and feel of the station reflects the quality and standard of content being created on it, and to widen its appeal to young listeners.
The Roundhouse is a hub of inspiration where artists and emerging talent create extraordinary work and where young people can grow creatively as individuals. It believes in the power of creativity to change lives. By giving young people the chance to engage with the arts through music, media and performance projects, they inspire them to reach further, dream bigger, and achieve more.
It is also one of the most incredible live performance spaces in the world where the biggest names in music, theatre, circus and spoken word take to the stage every day. A former railway engine repair shed, the Grade II* listed building was transformed into aground breaking performing arts venue 50 years ago, and has have welcomed legendary artists from all over the world to perform in its unique spaces.
