Tripolism Returns to Ultra Records with Captivating New Single ‘Whatever We Call It’

Having established a reputation as one of electronic music’s most hyped breakthrough acts since forming back in 2021, Danish trio Tripolism kickstarts the New Year in abounding fashion, with the eagerly awaited announcement of their new single ‘Whatever We Call It’. Serving as their third official single on industry powerhouse label Ultra Records – following the critically acclaimed release of ‘Dope Dance’ and ‘Luna Love’ in August and October 2023 respectively – the Copenhagen-based trio now looks to leave their indelible mark on 2024, as they prepare to drop one of the most anticipated tracks of the year so far.

‘Whatever We Call It’ is another mesmerizing masterclass in dynamic, forward-thinking house music from the Scandinavian outfit, who call upon the undeniable talents of Norwegian artist Meera to bring a fresh new vocal perspective to the act’s inimitable production values. An unequivocally cool cut delivering rolling grooves, warped vocal injections and an intricate blend of industrial timbres and analogue tones, this delectably trippy new single reinforces Tripolism’s highly nuanced sonic identity and gives listeners a spirited insight into their forthcoming 2024 discography.

“Teaming up with Meera for ‘Whatever We Call It’ was an energetic burst waiting to happen. She reached out on Instagram in April 2023, expressing love for ‘Dope Dance’ before its release. Despite never having met in person, we hit it off online, and our creative exchanges turned into a high-voltage collaboration that just clicked. ‘Whatever We Call It’ is an energetic journey filled with the spontaneous synergy we discovered, and we can’t wait for everyone to feel the vibe” – Tripolism

Carving a niche as one of the most authentic and exciting new acts on the circuit, Tripolism’s combined musical knowledge and passion for the cross-pollination of genres has earned them a rapid escalation to international awareness over the past few years. Emerging onto the scene in 2021 with an impressive run of standout releases on the likes of Out of Options, Metrica, Just This and Balance Music, the trio have built a dedicated fan base of loyal listeners all around the globe, purveying their unique blend of melodic techno and subtle Nordic noir influences.

Signing to Ultra Records with their now-iconic label debut ‘Dope Dance’ in August 2023 – a track which was crowned Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune in July, entered his Top 5 Essential Tunes of the Year and saw further widespread support from some of the industry’s most influential tastemakers – the electronic triptych went on to release their deeply atmospheric follow up single ‘Luna Love’ two months later, alongside with Berlin-based artist Rosa Lee Luna. An exquisite addition to their already burgeoning discography, the cut proved to be another indispensible hit with peers, fans and industry specialists alike, cementing Tripolism’s status as ‘ones to watch’ for 2024.
