The Ukrainian scene has a lot to thank Artreform for. It is a firing label that always serves up the essential club goods and has done across 25 near faultless releases now. To celebrate the deserved milestone, it is hotter than hot SCSI-9 who get the nod and serve up a trio of killer cuts.
This outfit has a slick sound that is part house, part electronic, and full of soul. Here they go deep and emotive on all the tracks and it is hard to pick a favourite. Trombone Groove goes first and sets a nice lazy pace that really suck you in. Swirling pads and slick hi hats, weird sounds and wobbling bass all sounds gooey and inviting. Hundreds of Fragments then unhinges itself a little more with some interesting chords that sound skewed and woozy. It’s a track you might find Axel Boman playing given its left of centre nature, then finally Wrong bells hits a bit harder with thudding new jersey kicks and nebulous pads that spiral round and round and leave you feeling drunk. It’s nice stuff all round once again then from this outfit.
