Turtle - Turtle – The Floor

Glaswegian producer and songwriter Jon Cooper aka Turtle is excited to share a brand new video for his single ‘The Floor’, taken from his second EP ‘Colours’ – out now on Beatnik Creative.

‘The Floor’ opens the five track EP in style, introducing Turtle’s distinctive vocals over alluring guitar hooks and rising, dreamlike synths. Constantly building, emerging beats propel the track to a motorik climax with Cooper’s vocals enveloping within blissful sounds and rhythm.

Having reached #2 in the Hype Machine popular chart and with over 100k streams, Turtle fans will be pleased to hear that his instrumental masterpiece ‘Lavender’ also features on the EP, along with title track ‘Colours’  and further new tracks ‘Silent Weapons’ and ‘Us’.

With two of the five EP tracks straight-up instrumental and the other three featuring vocal, the release is a perfect example of Cooper’s diverse ability as a beat maker as much as a singer/songwriter.

Debut EP ‘Who Knows’ saw Cooper unify critics and gain comparisons with the likes of
Jon Hopkins, SOHN and Thom Yorke, including being championed heavily by the likes of Lauren Laverne, Gilles Peterson, Nemone and Steve Lamacq BBC 6 Music, Huw Stephens BBC Radio 1.

Since his debut Cooper has been busy reworking acts such as Lyla Foy, Phoria and Khushi, earning him a sterling reputation as a remixer, with tastemaker blog Gold Flake Paint refering to his remixes as “the most impressive we’ve heard in 2014.”

Turtle’s second EP Colours is out now via Beatnik Creative (Palace & Eliza Shaddad).
