Ultimate DJ Competition Launches with Pukka Up

Following on from the huge success of last year’s Ultimate DJ Competition, Ibiza’s biggest boat party, Pukka Up, is back with another competition of epic proportions that is set to put one aspiring DJ firmly on the international clubbing map. With a prize pool valued at around £10,000, offering international DJ gigs, releases on Pukka Up Records, artist management, and full promo support, the Pukka Up Ultimate DJ Competition is set to unearth dance music’s next big thing and undoubtedly change a life forever. The lucky winner will play several parties in Ibiza where Pukka Up now reigns in its 11th year, including sets at, Pukka Up’s Ibiza Town VIP Boat Party, the San Antonio Sunset Boat Party, at Pukka Up’s brand new Wednesday residency Going Global, at Pacha alongside Aoki’s Playhouse, on the Amnesia Terrace, plus an international tour date, and at the Pukka Up Ibiza Reunion in London. There’s also chance to become a full time resident for Pukka Up – not an opportunity that comes around every day!
 
In order for a DJ to gain recognition and deliver maximum impact, they need to do more than just expertly spin great tunes, so Pukka Up have gone the extra mile by offering an exclusive deal with its record label, Pukka Up Records. The winning artist will release a single and a remix on the label, mix a CD for the next instalment in the Pukka Up compilation series, and receive two days studio time with the highly respected production trio, The Str8jackets. Combined with a 6 month management deal, a slot on Pukka Up Radio and much, much more, this competition could be the big break one hopeful has been waiting for.
 
Entrants will need to head over to www.facebook.com/pukkaupfanpage and click on the Ultimate DJ Comp App. From there, they will be able to post a link to a mix or original production on Soundcloud, and submit a short bio, their chance to sell themselves! There are no restrictions with regards to age, country of origin or music genre, so this is set to be a wide reaching and competitive competition.
 
From the App, the public will be able to vote for their favourite and the top 5 with the most votes will go on to be finalists. The winner will be judged by dance music’s leading magazine, Mixmag, and long standing resident DJ / Pukka Up Records Director / and one third of The Str8jackets, Mark Robinson.
 
The deadline for entries is Monday 23 June at 1800 GMT. In order to make the top 5 finalists, the DJ needs to get the most votes possible from the public and their peers, so should get sharing and get the backing they deserve! Good luck to all the potential superstars out there….
