Marking the start of a new year, one of the brightest rising stars within techno, Rob Hes, unveils his new label Pursuit. With a focus to create a family style vibe for their artists on their roster, their output will focus on a broad spectrum of techno; melodic, raw and deep but above all made with passion.
Modern Times marks the debut release, a solid 4 track release from Rob himself with a special remix man of the moment and friend of the family; Reinier Zonneveld. We are honoured he is opening up Pursuit’s roster, and shows a glimpse of whats to come in 2018.
The original of Modern Times provides a thundering kick, as a synthetic arpeggiation slowly waves its way in and out of the groove. Reinier delivers a more minimal, dark version; explosive synths and a simplistic yet effective percussive rhythm.
Unbearable and About Last Night are the darker side of this EP. They both give off an industrial edge, building that late night tension with swinging bass and shuffling rhythms. The build and perfectly fall into a dance-floor worthy drop.
