Why should you care? Cause everybody loves a good come-back story. Andrea Fratangelo (of Crookers fame) and Manny Lateulade joined forces after seeing how organic and effortless their collabs came together.
They decided to team up once Covid shook up the world. “I found some comfort in the routine of making music with Andrea, so collaborating remotely while in quarantine really helped me get through it in one piece,” says Manny, who in the last three years has been creating waves for himself with his solo project Manolo. “Unidos is more than just two people making music though, we have a vision that extends way past Andrea and I”.
The initial EP Todo Empezara (everything will begin) releasing on Snatch! Records consists of two heavy tracks. Todo Empezo and Sucias. The first of the two, Todo Empezo is hard not to move to with its infectious groove and catchy melodic elements. “We wanted to develop a texture in our music that has us stand apart, we feel this song is a good example of that” – Andrea
The second track, Sucias is an expressive record filled with some heavy drums, shuffling percussion, and anthemic vocals. “This track is a pure celebration, I’ve never been to Space – Miami, but I had that venue in mind when working on this track. I would have a video of The Martinez Brothers at Space playing in the background muted while working on ‘Sucias’, I’m excited to hear it on the dance floors and maybe even at Space one day” – Manny.
The last but most important piece is Snatch! Records, “It’s an honour to have our first EP release on such a strong label like Snatch! We’re both huge fans of Riva Starr so we can’t ask for a better partner to present this project”.
