UNO Malta 2025 Opens with Galactica’s Hard-Techno Festival

Kicking off on July 24 and starring Fantasm, Holy Priest and many more, Galactica opens the electronic season at UNO Malta: the first techno appointment of the summer at the island’s premier open-air venue, which will also host Carl Cox, elrow, and Fuse later this season.

This July and August, Galactica Malta will debut as a landmark four-night techno residency, bringing the raw power and relentless energy of Italy’s legendary Cocoricò brand to the Mediterranean. Hosted at UNO Malta, located just steps from the iconic Park Nazzjonali Ta’ Qali, Galactica promises an immersive open-air experience defined by hard-hitting, industrial techno and underground intensity.

Born from Cocoricò’s long-standing reputation in Riccione as one of Europe’s most influential techno festivals and labels, Galactica represents a natural evolution of the brand’s commitment to unfiltered, powerful sound. The residency format, spanning July 24, July 31, August 7, and August 21, positions Malta as a key summer destination for techno connoisseurs seeking uncompromising electronic music away from the mainstream EDM spectacle.

Each night delivers a distinct lineup, featuring internationally respected and emerging artists who excel in the hardest edges of the genre.  The opening night on July 24 spotlights Luca Agnelli, a Tuscan DJ and producer acclaimed for his formidable presence in the hard techno scene. Since founding the influential Etruria Beat Records in 2010, Agnelli has shaped the sound of contemporary techno with releases on prominent labels such as Drumcode and Soma. His dynamic sets combine industrial textures and neo-rave energy, making him a pivotal force in the genre’s evolution. Alongside him are Pisapia and Gianni Di Bernardo, each bringing their own refined approach to the underground scene.

The July 31 installment introduces Fantasm, a US-born, Lyon-based artist whose burgeoning career has rapidly gained recognition for his dark, hypnotic industrial and hard techno productions. He’ll not be alone at decks, but Klofama, Daisy and Mamo will kick things off too. August 7 welcomes Basswell (Mathias Boitel), a French DJ and producer who recently dropped his latest single “Acid”. Only Numbers, Ankkh and Kymera will complete the lineup for this episode.

The closing night on August 21 features the enigmatic Holy Priest, a masked artist hailed as an innovator of the hard techno underground. Known for explosive sets and incisive tracks like “Fuck This,” Holy Priest will share the decks with Mamo, along an explosive Mattia Trani B2B V111.

Galactica Malta’s artistic vision is matched by its dedication to fostering a vibrant, international crowd drawn from Malta, Italy, and the wider European techno community. The choice of UNO Malta, adjacent to the lush National Park of Ta’ Qali, offers a unique open-air setting that amplifies the event’s underground ethos with a backdrop of natural beauty and fresh sea air—making Galactica accessible while preserving the underground spirit emblematic of Cocoricò’s brand.

As part of a stellar summer season of UNO Malta that also features Carl CoxelrowFuseMeduza b2b James HypeAnjunadeep and many more highlights, Galactica stands out for its uncompromising artistic identity, offering a deeper, more alternative experience in contrast to Malta’s broader festival calendar, which leans towards large-scale EDM and pop productions.
